Mrs Plaskitts Thank You & Best Wishes
Dear Parents and Carers,
Well, we finally come to the end of an eventful year at Snitterfield. This term has been especially busy and we've packed a lot in, both in the classrooms and behind the scenes.
Over the past few weeks there has been much to celebrate across the school. I've seen the Reception children on their Move Up Day in Class 2 looking so grown up and ready for new challenges. Class 2 danced their socks off on their Lion King day - and boy, wasn't the temperature in the Hall just like Africa! I've had the pleasure this week of watching our wonderful, talented Key Stage 2 children act, sing and dance their way through Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies. Such a great way to finish the year, and of course giving us so much to look forward to in September.
We will obviously miss our Year 6 group - they are a super bunch of young people who have added so much to the school in many ways. We look forward to hearing of their future achievements and wish them good luck at their chosen secondary schools. They have done us proud and they carry our good wishes with them for the future.
We say Thank You and Goodbye to Mrs Norris and Mrs Sims - they've been a fantastic double act in Class 3 and we wish them well for their future ventures.
Not wanting to wish the summer holidays away, but we are of course planning for the new school year. In particular I wanted to mention a new programme of parent information events and workshops that we are putting together. This will add to and formalise some of our regular events, incorporating Welcome evenings and SATs meetings. In addition we have already added an E-Safety for Parents session in the Autumn Term. If you have ideas for what sessions parents might find useful please let me know and we will try to arrange. We are planning to have one session per half term.
So, on behalf of all staff and Governors I would like to wish all our families a wonderful, sunny and healthy summer holidays. Make lots of memories, have fun and we will see you all in September, fresh and ready for the new school year!
Best wishes from Mrs Plaskitt
Class 2: African Beats and Beasts!
Class 2 made a recent trip to Africa and experienced a day dancing to the african beats and becoming their very own saharan animals - even Miss Barnett went 'wild'! The day ended with a parent performance which the children thoroughly enjoyed doing. A big thank you to those parents who helped with face-painting in the sweltering heat.
All the teachers and school staff would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone that has come into the classroom to help with anything and everything: reading, projects and one-off events such as Arts Week or Games afternoon....to name a few (sure we will have forgotten someone but please dont be offended - we appreciate you all ;-): Mrs Jayne Lucas, Mrs Burdus-Cook, Ms Schramm, Reverend Mutter, Mrs Mannall, Mrs Reilly, Mrs Richards, Mrs Holt, Mrs Curson, Hetty Reid, Mrs Osmotherley and Mrs Horne... BIG THANKS.
Class 3: Let's Go Fly A Kite Up To The Highest Height!
Class 3 have been busy crafting and making the most of Arts Week. One creative project was to design, engineer and fly their very own kites, culminating with the children running down the playing field to see which ones lasted the course (not many!).
Reception Class - Summer Term Fun
Our lovely Reception class, soon to be big boys and girls heading into Year 1, have enjoyed a fantastic Summer term making the most of the wonderful weather, here's a snapshot into their busy school lives!

Snitterfield Priorities Identified:
Information about the work children are doing. We will hold our usual ‘Welcome Meeting’ in September. We know that we could do better regarding what our themes are and what we are learning each term. We will consider how we share this information with you and feedback to you in September.
Homework. There were some comments around the discipline around Homework – in that it is not always marked or feedback given to the children. We will be asking for comments from both children and parents around this when we review our policy in the Autumn Term
After School Clubs. The number and range of after school clubs has increased over the last year in conjunction with Kidz Club. However, we do recognise that we could do more to improve. This will be on our action plan for the next year.
School meals. A number of parents answered this with a ‘Don’t know’. However, there were a number of very positive comments about the meals. As last year we will offer the opportunity for parents to join us on some occasions so that they can judge the meals for themselves.
School Improvement over the last year. We are sorry that more parents haven’t been able to recognise the improvements that we have been working on over the past year. There were 13 parents who responded ‘Don’t know’ so we clearly need to tell you more about what we are working on next year.

As well as saying 'Au revoir' to Mrs Norris and Mrs Sims we also say a fond farewell to Tanya, who is leaving Warwickshire for pastures new, and has, over the last 13 years, helped us create our sensory garden and been a wonderful support for the school both with gardening and teaching the children about all things green. Good luck with the move Tanya!
