WE MADE IT: LAST DAY OF TERM PANTO!
We're here, finally, the last day of a crazy long term and we're having a relaxing and festive day here at school.
The children are thoroughly enjoying the Pantomime with pupils getting up on stage to 'help' the performers out!
Here are Skye and Ed from Class 4 as Russians!!
Wow wow wow - what an amazing nativity performance the children treated us to this week - they were absolutely amazing, all rising to the challenge, and so many of them also doing solos/duos/trios!! Well done children - we're very proud of you.
Here are a few snaps from the evening performance:
And the afternoon performance:
Well, didn't the children belt out those catchy tunes last night!! They were amazing, and the Reception children performed their scenes so well - tired and ready for a break after a very long first, 15 week, term at school for them - but they were absolutely brilliant.
Class 1 have still been heading outdoors every Friday morning sloshing around Forest Schooling. Here they are getting very muddy!!
Class 1 enjoying some indoor maths challenges and preparing beautiful Christingle pictures.
CLASS 2: TRIP TO WARWICK CASTLE
Class 2 hit Warwick on a very rainy Thursday last week, but the rain did not dampen their spirits as they learnt all about the interesting aspects of life at a castle and reviewed the defensive features of the castle including walls, towers, murder holes and the Portcullis!
They also learnt about attack and defense and some fun facts (ask them about the small windows and their alternate use!?) and had a fantastic 'sword skills' workshop where they ducked, dived and charged! Charlie got to see his favourite bird, The Hawk, and Miss Barnett got stuck in the maze!
In Class 3, during their recent RE lessons, the children have been re-enacting nativity scenes. Here are a few photos from their last lesson:
CLASS 4 COOK UP A MEXICAN STORM
Yesterday, Class 4 all did some cooking...Mexican style. They made a scrumptious salsa dip which didn't last long - as they all tucked into a nacho snack dipping feast!
CLASS 4: CHRISTMAS DEC EXTRAVAGANZA!!!
Class 4 got into the swing of things early on in December to help ready the school for the Christmas Fayre. Paper chains were made and they grew and grew and grew.....
Class 4 have been getting very creative this term preparing Mayan head dresses ahead of their sharing assembly. Check out their beautiful creations....
After all their hard work on the nativity play, Class 2 enjoyed a well deserved elfastic day this Wednesday creating calendars, watching 'Elf' and enjoying some popcorn.
Our wonderful woodwind musicians took to the stage last week and performed for the first time to the whole school and their parents. They all did such a good job! Even the children who have only just started learning an instrument this academic year performed in the group song and as a duo or trio - well done children!!!
Another parent showcase has been booked in already for the Spring Term so make a note in your diaries now; 31st March 11:45-12:15PM.
Please find below a list of clubs for the Spring Term, along with how to book and, in the case of the free school-run clubs, how to provide your online consent.
This term, Onside Coaching are not offering the Dodge Ball/Tag Rugby club on Fridays as the take up was too low for it to be financially viable. However they will look into offering a new Friday club for the Summer Term.
Each Spring term, Miss Barnett and Mr Young run 'SAT's Attack' clubs for their respective Y2 and Y6 children which are designed to give the children increased confidence and remove any anxieties. Y2's club will be held on Thursdays 3:15-4:15PM and Y6's Wednesday lunch time 12:15-12:45PM.
Please also note:
- Each term, School-run and Onside Coaching-run clubs do not start in week 1, they always start in week 2 and do not run in the last week of each full term;
- And this term, Kidz-Club run Dance and Spanish clubs will also start in week 2.
- Kidz-Club run Lego club will start in week 1.
- Kidz Club clubs are run by Beckie Reaper, not school, and payment is made direct to Beckie, contact details below. Am happy to pass any money on to Beckie but can't offer change.

Miss Aust and the midday team - Mrs Gisbourne and Mrs Aust - did a phenomenal job at preparing the hall (and squeezing us all in!) to all enjoy our Christmas lunch together this week. All 115 of us sat down and enjoyed a really lovely meal cooked by our new cook, Lucy, and her team. The meal was interspersed with the children breaking out spontaneously into slightly altered 'Last Christmas' renditions!
We'll be looking out for other kind and thoughtful children who have contributed to their community in some way - so parents please let us know if your children do such things out of school - we're not limited to one award per term either, so we could be giving out lots of awards!
Mrs Plaskitt and Miss Phillips held a Christmas Crafting session whilst the afternoon Nativity performance took place. Mrs Plaskitt brought in tea lights and black bowler hats (holes screwed in top courtesy of Mr Plaskitt!) for the children to make snowman christmas tree decorations with a light up nose, and was in charge of the glue gun 007 style! And Miss Phillips brought in paper and pom poms for the children to make reindeer tree decorations - they all had a lovely, chilled and Christmassy afternoon.
