Key Stage 1 enjoyed making (and eating!!!) some yummy pancakes on Shrove Tuesday this week, and Class 2 even attempted some pancake race flipping. Well done to Darnell who managed to flip the fastest - whilst running at pace!

Check out THE BIG RACE!!!
Class 4 have been nurturing their art and science skills this past few weeks with it all culminating into massive eruptions last week. Jayne Lucas has again been kindly helping every pupil in the class to make clay model volcanoes in preparation for Mr Youngs science lessons!
Vinegar and bicarbonate of soda were mixed together to create the explosion, and washing up liquid provided the bubbles and red food colouring provided the deep red magma! They had such a fantastic time with this project - check out the photos below.
SCHOOL FUNDRAISER: NAME LABELS
They can be used on your child(ren)s: uniform, PE kit, lunch-snack boxes, shoes, trainers etc. The labels, Stitkins, are a modern alternative to sew-in name tapes and iron-on tags and are multipurpose; in addition to school uniform and clothing, they can also be applied directly onto water bottles and lunchboxes, pencil cases, books and reading bags, and other personal items.
They simply stick on and stay on, even when put through the washing machine, dishwasher, tumble dryer or microwave! You can label dozens of items quickly and easily and they can be applied directly onto the wash-care instructions label of garments. Strong and resilient, school uniforms, P.E. kits, coats, and even assorted winter gear remain safe and secure for the entire academic year!
How to Order
If you like them, you can order a pack directly from the home screen of the School App (might need to refresh the app) or via the school website: Parent Info> Online Name Labe Ordering.
Simply choose ‘Order Now’ and, very importantly, DON’T FORGET to put the School Fundraising Number: 18155 into the ‘School Fundraising field’ at the bottom of the page before you click PAY!
The school will be given 30% of each order which will go towards the children’s’ learning experiences.

CLASS 1: WORLD BOOK DAY - ELMER THE PATCHWORK ELEPHANT
Class 1 enjoyed a super World Book Day yesterday, they all wore wonderul bright clothes, made their own masks, painted Elmer pictures and had loads of fun. And didn't Miss Findlay and Mrs Varley looked resplendent in their patchwork outfits with matching ears - thanks to Mrs Varley's fantastic creative skills.
Can you recognise your child under their beautiful masks?
CLASS 3 WORLD BOOK DAY - THE BEAR AND THE PIANO
Class 3 had a fantastic day celebrating The Bear and the Piano book and all came in looking either sparkly or extremely smart. The children also made cookies and enjoyed an amazing piano recital from Rosa, Class 3.
CLASS 4 WORLD BOOK DAY - TUESDAY
Class 4 were celebrating a book called Tuesday. In this imaginative, virtually wordless picture book strange things happen on a Tuesday night. Frogs are sitting on their Lily pads but at 8.00 they find they have the power to lift off. They fly to a nearby town where they have an exuberant adventure, which causes havoc. Next morning, normality is restored and the police are left to ponder at the large lily pads scattered all over the town. What will happen next Tuesday?
Look at the fantastic frog masks that Miss Phillips made!
Friday the 15th February saw the return of the annual Snitterfield school Bingo night and with a ‘full house’ was an all round success! Bar and Raffle tickets sales were booming and along with his new calling partner,Mrs Worland, Wayne Berry led the evening with his usual humour and unique style so a big thank you to both!
A special mention to the great team behind the scenes, helping with the organisation and preparation before, during and after the event, especially in the kitchen-Jo Holt, Faye Kenning, Jo Comer, Vicky Querault, Carol Anne Horne, Jo Hudson, Emma Mackay, Jayne Lucas and Claudine Pearson as well as our superb bar managers Isobel McLaughlin and Suzie Hughes. Those brownies-wow!
include in the newsletter but the confirmed amount raised by Bingo was £527.69 plus an additional £100 match funding organised by Beckie Smith and Cadburys.A nice result!
The evening raised a fantastic £527.69 for school, plus an additional £100 match funding organised by Beckie Smith through Cadbury's producing a GRAND TOTAL OF £627.69!! A massive thankyou to everyone involved, both front of house and behind the scenes, as well as those who came along, bought a raffle ticket and enjoyed the bar!
SCHOOL COUNCIL LOGO DESIGN: THANKS
Here is the winning design all digitalised and ready to be posted to the website and used on School Council communications - all thanks to Jaspers (Class 2) dad - who has helped us transform Isla's hand drawn design into a digital image.
FETE GRANT: EARLY LEARNING PE EQUIPMENT
School applied via FOSS to the Snitterfield Village Fete committee, following last years fete, and were lucky enough to be granted £400 to go towards some early learning play equipment for Key Stage 1. We are really grateful to the committee for giving us this money and the children are already enjoying the new equipment.
So, all the work that School mums and dads put into the fete in running the Tea Tent and other organised games and stalls is much appreciated and goes directly to enriching the childrens time here at school. We plan to apply this year too - and will be requesting funds to support Key Stage 2 children this time round
- to ensure all children can benefit.
FROM SCHOOL COUNCIL: COMIC RELIEF DAY
At the beginning of the school year, School Council decided that the school would support both Children in Need and
Comic Relief charities this year.
Comic Relief day is next Friday and the Council has decided
to do a few things:
1. A cake sale after school on the Friday
If parents would like to either bake or buy a cake/biscuits and bring them into school anytime from Thursday onwards (Library Area), School Council will be selling them at the end of school in the playground!
2. Assembly: Jokes
Miss Barnett will be giving a morning assembly next Wednesday showing the children what the funds raised support, and talking to them abou the charity. If any of the children would like to put forward a joke to tell the school during the assembly -
PLEASE either EMAIL THE JOKE TO: [email protected] or hand write it and give it to Mrs Carless in the office.
Am afraid we won't have time for all 'jokers' to tell their jokes but School Council will pick the best of the bunch so every one is in with a chance!
3. Head Attire Dress Up!! £1 Voluntary Donation
Because we have Class 1 in Forest School and Classes 3 and 4 out swimming in the morning, the council have decided that children can wear head dress items such as Red Noses or Deeley Boppers to school on the Friday, but come to school in their
usual Friday clothes - uniform or Forest School clothing (class 1), and are politely asking for £1 voluntary donations to go towards Comic Relief charity.
4. Individual challenges
If any of the children are planning to do indvidual challenges, such as a sponsored run or swim, let Mrs Carless or Miss Barnett know and we will celebrate their achievements and promote their challenge in Wednesday's assembly.
Thank you in advance for your support,
The School Council
FROM NURSERY: TESCO FUNDRAISER
SO DON'T FORGET TO PUT YOUR BLUE COIN INTO THE SNITTERFIELD NURSERY SLOT!
And rest assured Snitterfield School has also applied to be included in the scheme! As soon as we're up we will let you know!
